The prevalence of infertility amongst the general population is 9-15% in industrialized countries. This increase in prevalence is believed to be due to :
Approximately one third of the instances of couple infertility are due to the male. A relationship has been found between infertility and the factors listed below. |
The main infertility risk factors for males and females are:
- Over or under nutrition;
- Smoking;
- Caffeine intake;
- Marijuana consumption;
- Alcohol consumption;
- Altered sleep patterns;
- Sedentary occupation;
- Stress ;
- Exposure to environmental pollutants ;
- Age;
- Abnormal bowel flora and/or increased gut permeability;
- Insulin resistance and blood sugar dysregulation;
- Genitourinary infection;
- Overweight/ underweight.
On top of these issues, there may be sex specific problems such as poor quality or quantity of sperm in males or issues such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, endometriosis, hormonal imbalance or history of miscarriage in females. We have found that infertility is usually due to conditions that if left untreated, will affect the body in other ways (e.g. stress or nutrient deficiencies).
Whilst IVF may be unavoidable in some situations, in most, by working on the health of the
parents-to-be, conception can take place naturally. This method of fertility treatment will also ensure optimal fitness and health in readiness to produce the healthiest baby possible.
Recent research has discovered that toxins actually do pass through the placenta and onto the unborn baby – the importance of proper detoxification prior to conception, can therefore not be underestimated. By eradicating toxins and balancing your body before trying for a baby, you are also decreasing the risks of problems such as ADHD and eczema or asthma in your child.
It is recommended that you commit yourself to a four month program. This will allow time for a complete detoxification and for the production of healthy sperm and ovum.
To ensure that you are given the right treatments to rectify any hormonal imbalances, pathology testing of your hormones and thyroid function will be recommended. In some instances PAP-IMI will be suggested to enhance fertility outcomes. All prospective parents will receive specific nutritional & herbal supplements that research has found to be important for reproductive health, plus those that are needed to rectify any other health problems.
Pain

“My pain was killing me! Even after all the drugs, I found it difficult to get off of the couch”.“ Pain relief came soon after treatment started. I was able to get back to work quickly. I can sleep through the night now without the constant pain.”Ned Forrestor, Humpty Doo |
There are multiple types of pain including acute or chronic pain, back pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, arthritic or nerve related pain, to name but a few. Whilst inflammation is a characteristic of each, treatment will vary according to what type of pain is being experienced. When you attend the clinic you will initially need a consultation to establish the likely cause, the type of pain you are experiencing and to determine if any dietary and mineral deficiencies are contributing to your pain. Various tests such as Cellular Health Analysis will be undertaken to gain an understanding of your body’s ability to heal and to help establish the best course of action for you. Toxicity, stress, mineral deficiencies and excess acidity are common findings in people who are experiencing pain.
As part of your treatment you may be prescribed muscle relaxant minerals, natural anti-inflammatories (which do not cause any gut problems or long term damage to cartilage) and be recommended massage, relaxation techniques and a course of PAP-IMI. PAP-IMI is unique in its ability to heal and bring about long term resolution of pain, in most cases. This is achieved by the devices ability to penetrate deep within the cells of the body where it delivers pulses of healing energy. Research indicates that PAP-IMI has the ability to assist with detoxification of the body, decrease the messages of pain being sent to the brain, decrease inflammation and swelling, speed up wound healing, repair bone, muscle and nerve injury. This type of treatment should not be confused or to compared to the TENS machine. Pulses from PAP-IMI have been found to actually produce changes in the body and penetrate 18 to 20 cms. TENS machine penetrates approximately 1 cm and is believed to act on nerves to decrease the pain message to the brain but does not have the ability to repair the body.
Remember: The longer you have had the pain, the longer it will take to treat.
Skin disorders including eczema, dermatitis, fungal, acne and psoriasis
There are multiple types of skin disorders, most of which can be aggravated by the heat conditions of the tropics. Our clinic treats all skin conditions except skin cancers and scarring. When you have treatment for your skin condition it is important to establish the cause of your problem. Skin problems are frequently related to diet and food intolerances, pH problems, nutrient deficiencies, familial conditions and lifestyle factors such as stress, chemical exposure and the work environment.

Through examination of the skin and in-depth history taking, we are able to determine the best course of action for you, to bring about symptomatic relief quickly, but more importantly correct the internal imbalances which are causing the problem. Remember, your skin is basically a reflection of what is going on inside the body – if we do not address your internal imbalances, it is likely that the skin condition will re-occur at a later time.
Testing will frequently be recommended to determine allergy or food intolerances, specific nutrient deficiencies, stress levels and related gut issues. Good results are generally achieved by using specific creams and Practitioner Only Products which balance any nutrient deficiencies and rectify immune imbalances.
Food Sensitivity including Hayfever, Asthma, Sinusitis and related Skin problems
Like skin disorders (see above), asthma, hayfever, allergies and sinus problems are related to immune imbalances and nutrient deficiencies. Food sensitivity testing is extremely beneficial with these disorders, however avoidance of allergens alone is not suitable for long term resolution, especially if we find problems with airborne allergens, such as pollens.
Frequently there are other underlying issues that need resolving in order to bring about more substantial change. There may be problems with candidiasis, gut toxicity, an emotional link such as stress, immune imbalances and nutrient imbalances that need to be taken into account. Specific supplements will be recommended according to our examination findings, but will generally address nutrient problems, aim to “turn off” the inflammation and re-balance the immune system.
A Detoxification Program may be recommended, as might a course of PAP-IMI which has been found to have positive effects upon lung volumes in asthmatics.
For children, there are highly effective Practitioner Only Products, which taste good to.
Stress, Depression and Anxiety
It is estimated that 95% of people are stressed at some time. There are 2 types of stress; – chronic and acute. Acute stress refers to our reaction to a traumatic event, whilst chronic stress is generally related to work or family issues and lasts greater than 6 weeks. The effects of stress upon the body are enormous. Stress can be the cause of skin
disorders, sleep difficulty, fatigue, thyroid problems, fertility issues, weight loss or gain. Underlying stress can be common nutritional deficiencies which are easily rectified. To assure you are getting the proper treatment for your stress, you will be asked to complete one or two questionnaires about how you are feeling. This will help to distinguish if there is also a component of depression or anxiety.
Herbal and nutritional supplements are given as part of your treatment to bring about immediate mood changes and to start building up depleted nutrients, without which your body cannot make the brain neurotransmitters like the “feel good” hormone, serotonin. Another highly effective treatment for stress is PAP-IMI. Research has found that magnetic therapy can have a positive effect upon the neurotransmitters and in the past, I have found that clients feel better after only a few treatments.
Fatigue
There are multiple causes of fatigue and in order to treat you properly, an understanding of the cause of your fatigue must first be investigated. Fatigue can occur due to gut related problems such as candidiasis, allergies, gut toxicity and poor absorption of nutrients. It may be due to deficiencies of various vitamins and minerals such as B12, iron, magnesium or zinc, or related to depression, sleep problems, excess body fat or poor diet. Because of these multiple causative factors, some testing is very important. When you visit with a fatigue issue, you can expect to be asked to have tests done such as urinalysis, Urinary Indicans (for gut toxicity), a Cellular Health Analysis or a variety of other tests. Whilst taking a good history will tell us a lot about your health problems, testing refines the process and provides us with greater results.
Your treatment options include a Detoxification Program, supplementation with minerals, herbs or homeopathics, all picked specifically to treat your individual health requirements. Amazingly PAP-IMI has been found to actually increase Adenosine. Adenosine is needed to produce ATP – the energy that your body makes inside the mitochondria of the cell. So to give your program a boost, PAP-IMI is ideal.
Gut problems including Constipation, Diarrhea, Gastritis, Abdo Pain, Candida
The importance of our stomach and digestive system is only now beginning to be understood. 70% of your immune cells are found in your stomach which is why good gut function is paramount for good health.
You may be suffering with loose, smelly stools, constipation, reflux or abdominal pain. Problems can occur at any part of the digestive system including the stomach, colon, small intestine or be related to liver & gallbladder function. Each of these regions will produce their own symptoms and be related to deficiencies of things such as minerals, pancreatic enzymes, hydrochloric acid or bile. Diminished absorption of nutrients can be a consequent of gut issues & is subsequently often related to fatigue.
Poor gut function can be related to conditions such as “dysbiosis” or “leaky gut” where there can be an imbalance of good vs bad gut flora, problems with breaking down foods or the presence of parasites.
An unhealthy gut can result in increased absorption of substances that make the body more prone to allergies, arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Fortunately these conditions, once identified, are easily treated. Ask about our Gut Toxicity Tests and Detoxification Program.
Immunity Related Problems such as Excess Colds or Flu
Whilst it is normal to get a cold occasionally, if you are suffering from a cold or flu more than a few times a year, or if they last greater than 5 days at a time, you may be immune-compromised. With our busy lifestyle, it is easy to get “run down” now and again. At these times, an extra helping hand with some specific supplements to boost your immunity can be of help. Dietary habits may need to be changed a little to ensure your body is not getting too many things that suppress your immune function or too little of the foods that your body requires to keep you going. Once again, underlying gut toxicity or stress may be making things worse for you. So if you think you are getting colds, flu
or allergy related problems more than you should, the cause can be dealt with swiftly and you will be back on the right track, before you know it.
Endocrine related disorders such as Adrenal Burnout, Thyroid problems or Metabolic Syndrome
The Endocrine system consists of glands which produce hormones (chemicals that regulate the function of organs and tissues in your body). Included in this group are the pituitary, adrenal gland, thyroid, and pancreas. Disorders related to your glands are very common place. They include such things as the stress related “adrenal burnout”, hypo or hyperthyroidism, blood sugar problems or insulin resistance, or diminished pancreatic enzymes. Endocrine glands feedback information to each other, which is why problems in one area can affect another area. For example, if you are stressed this might affect your thyroid gland which might in turn effect your reproductive hormones.
To investigate your hormone activity tests such as fasting blood sugar levels, thyroid or stress hormone levels or iridology are warranted. Whatever the cause, naturopathy is able to correct the imbalance through the use of dietary and lifestyle recommendations and the use of Practitioner Only supplementation.
Circulatory problems such as Blood Pressure problems, Fluid Retention, Heart problems
Problems related to the heart and circulatory system are widespread in Australia. As part of your goal to avoid
pre-mature ageing and maintain good health and optimal function as long as possible, it is recommended that you undergo our Cardio-Vascular Risk Assessment. Not only does our assessment take into account the factors that medical practitioners look at, but it goes one step further by incorporating lifestyle factors, gut toxicity, body fat percentage etc. to give you an idea of your current risk level.
These days we know that heart disease is about much more than simple cholesterol levels. It is related to inflammation or the “fire within”, which can be related to many other health factors. Fasting blood sugar levels and cholesterol levels are attained using a finger prick method.
We measure HDL (good cholesterol0, LDL (bad) cholesterol, triglycerides and total cholesterol levels. A Cellular Health Analysis is performed to find out if the body is inflamed, muscle and fat mass, quality of cells and fluid levels.
Hypertension is a risk factor for cardiac problems and this can be related to fluid retention. We will check your blood pressure, pulse and general circulation for any irregularities. Iridolology is particularly useful in establishing if circulatory problems are developing (production of the sodium-cholesterol ring).
High dose magnesium mixed with other components that work specifically on the circulatory and cardiovascular system are frequently prescribed if any problems are found, along with herbs that work exclusively on the heart and circulation. If blood pressure is excessively high, PAP-IMI can be used to bring down blood pressure quickly (can be used to drop BP by 30 points of mercury). PAP-IMI is also useful for preventing clotting of red blood cells and to reduce oedema and fluid retention.
